Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the heart of Wick, MacArthur House Bed & Breakfast is a delightful sanctuary that genuinely captures the essence of Scottish hospitality. From the moment we arrived, Stewart, our gracious host, welcomed us with warmth and provided insightful recommendations for exploring the locality, setting the tone for a memorable stay. The double room we occupied was an epitome of comfort, featuring a luxurious en-suite bathroom equipped with both a walk-in shower and a splendid tub-perfect for unwinding after a day of adventures. The thoughtful amenities, from the well-stocked mini fridge to complimentary toiletries, elevated our experience and made our stay feel effortlessly luxurious. Breakfast was a highlight, with a variety of options freshly prepared by Stewart. His attention to detail extended to treating us to homemade bread and a delightful potato scone, ensuring we started our day on a delectable note. The serene ambiance allowed for picturesque conversations, and we even had the pleasure of sharing tales with fellow guests, enriching our experience further. Conveniently located just 2 km from Wick John O'Groats Airport and within reach of stunning sites like Sinclair's Bay and the Castle Gardens of Mey, MacArthur House is the perfect launchpad for exploration. I wholeheartedly recommend this charming BnB to anyone visiting the burgeoning town of Wick; it's truly an unmatched value in the Highlands. If my travels take me back to this enchanting corner of Scotland, MacArthur House will be my first choice again.
